Hi,

I set up a quickset to scan to a network folder using QuickSets last week.  It worked fine.  Literally, nothing has changed, but today the printer tells me the credentials are invalid :(.   I saw another thread on this topic from a while ago, but there didn't seem to be a resolution.  Has the issue been resolved?   https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Scanning-Faxing-and-Copying/Scan-to-network-Incorrect-credentials/td-p....

OS: Mac OS Mojave, 10.14.6

Printer: HP MFP 479dfw

Printer Firmware: CLRWTRXXXN002.1924A.00 (this is the latest version.)

Network folder: 10.0.1.2\Scans (this is a static IP)

I have a separate "printer" user name set up on the laptop with its own password.  "printer" is configured to be a sharing-only account.

SMB and AFP options are enabled in the sharing preferences box.  I've already tried turning this off and ton again and rebooting the printer.

I am using the Mac Airprint drivers.

Thanks,

Raja

Your timing seems pretty close to the change for daylight savings.  Make sure the time and date on t=he 479 match up with the time and date on macOS client.  The SMB connection uses Kerberos for authentication and time is part of that negotiation.  If the clocks are too far off the credentials will fail.

While I may work for HP Inc, the views and opinions expressed here are my own.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.  Unfortunately, the times are synced and the date is correct on both machines :(.  Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Raja
