I can scan to computer flawlessly on both of my old Dell laptops. On my new Acer Spin 3, I can print wirelessly with no issues at all but scan to computer is a fail. The printer brings up an error message, "An error occurred while scanning. Please make sure your computer is connected to the printer and try again."
The computer brings up the error message, "The HP Photosmart 6510 series was not found." I have to be connected if I can print.
I've tried deleting and reloading the printer, reloading the driver, running the HP troubleshooting utility, reentering the IP address, cursing, screaming and pouting. None of the above have worked.
Is it possible that I need to somehow give my new laptop permission to scan from the older laptop? Not really up for $100 for a one shot try at phone support.
