After restoring my Windows 10 laptop and reinstalling programs I can no longer scan from my HP Envy 120 printer menu. I can print, the printer and laptop are on the same network but I can’t initiate scan to computer from the printer itself. Error message "No computer found" "Activate Scan to Computer" function in the HP printer software"
I’m sure I have seen this Activate Scan to Computer function somewhere in the past but it’s not available anywhere I can find now.

I thought I had this installed but I followed your steps and Scan to Computer is now working correctly. Thank you. This brings up another question for which you could maybe redirect me because I think others may be helped:
I added my printer first in Windows using Add Printer and the port assigned was a WSD. With the installation of the Software and Drivers package, I added the printer again and a different port named CN32Q was assigned. Is this the correct way to add an HP printer--twice, or should I have not added it in Windows to start? I have seen no explanation and would like to know more about the implications of each. And also the function of the HP Print Doctor. Is it undoing something Windows does?
Just curious.

Thanks for the feedback.
I am glad to see that everything is working again. 👍
The correct order is to install the complete software first and then add the printer after selecting the connection. If this is not done automatically by the installation. I would delete the printer with the WSD connection, see "Devices and Printers" and remove the printer with the WSD here.
Regarding the other questions, I recommend you make a new request, under the following categories:
a) Printer Wireless, Networking & Internet
b) Notebook Wireless and Networking
I think it's good that you are curious.
Regards
Andreas
