HP OfficeJet Pro 9018
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm trying to setup my new OfficeJet 9018 with Scan to e-mail.

Through research I was able to properly configure the Scan to e-mail settings to connect to my Yahoo account, so no longer get the failed connection for e-mail.

When trying to send a scanned document to an e-mail address I get the following error:

The Servers Security Certificate can not be validated

So now I'm directed to the Network setup in creating a new Security Certificate.

 1. the first option of Create a New Self-Signed Certificate does nothing - still get the same error.

 2. the 2nd option is Create a Certificate Request - go through this option and save a certificate to my computer and then select import to the printer from where it is saved.  Get this error:

The certificate file is corrupted or uses an unsupported file format.

Any ideas on how to get a good certificate on the new printer?

Hi,

From the printer homepage (EWS), select Scan and then edit your scan profile.

during the setup, uncheck the box to validate sever certificate, then complete the wizard and click Save and Test.

May you see any difference?

Thanks for a quick response on that, solved the problem.

Then got an error about incorrect credentials for my e-mail account.

I was logged onto my gmail and know the id and password were correct, even got a message from google saying access was blocked?  Anyway, changed it to my Yahoo credentials and went through without a problem.

Hi,
A such may occur due to your Google account security settings.

First, open the following link and login to the same account as you set for the printer.

Note: if you are connected, sign out from your account, select your account and manually enter the password to ensure you indeed use the correct password, then click on Security from the left pane:
https://myaccount.google.com/security

Within the Signing in to Google section ensure that "2-Step Verification" is set as "Off".

Within the Less secure app access section ensure that the feature is on.

If it is Off, click on Turn on access (not recommended) and toggle on the feature. Otherwise the verification will fail.
Once you are done run a test for the outgoing user profile and check if the problem been resolved.

You may also set 2-step verification as on and then set an app specific password and use it instead of the standard password for the printer.

Regards,
Shlomi
