Hello,

Trying to get Scan to email setup on our printer and getting SMTP email server error. The server might be down or busy. Try again later. I'm using a service account in Office 365 that has a mailbox associated with it.  Scan to Email settings look like:

Default From: Blank

Default Display Name: PR01

SMTP Server: smtp.office365.com

SMTP Port: 25

Always Use secure connection SSL/TLS (checked)

Validate Server Certificate (unchecked)

Maximum Size of Email: Auto

Server Requires Authentification (checked)

User name ServiceAccount@domain.com

Password: Office365 password for ServiceAccount@

I've logged into Office365 with the service account to verify the credentials multiple times. I've also tried ports 467 and 587 with and without SSL/TLS and with and without Server requires Authentification but still receive the SMTP email error above.

Hi,

Try selecting port 587 with SSL checked, this is the recommended setting:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/mail-flow-best-practices/how-to-set-up-a-multifunction-dev...

Also try setting a manual IP address for your printer, under Network select IPv4 Settings for your active connection and set a manual DNS address.

Set the primary DNS as 8.8.8.8  and the secondary as 8.8.4.4

Now try testing your Outgoing email profile configuration and check for any difference.

Here are the settings as they appear in the printer's EWS. I've set the DNS to Google's DNS of 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, always had a static IP, disabled IPv6 and still run into the SMTP email server error.

Also seeing Cannot connect to print when using the Scan to Email Wizard.

I can Telnet from the same network segment as the printer to smtp.office365.com:587 just fine.
