Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Welcome to the HP English Community --

 

This is a common response when the email provider requires 2FA (2-step verification) and the App Password is either not assigned or is not being read correctly.

 

Once you have the App Password -- created in your email's security settings -- come back to where you configured the Scan to Email profile and Edit the Profile.  Replace your normal email password with your new App Password created for this purpose.

 

General Example

 

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Scan > Scan to Email > Settings / Scan to Email Setup

 

OR (Alternate Format EWS - Select new OfficeJet Pro printers and some LaserJet)

 

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

1)  Section General > Email Servers

And, next

2)  Section Scan > Scan to Email

Well it looks like my google mail account isn't prompting third party app passwords, and wants me to rely on just two factor authentication.  maybe my printer is too old?
