HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer series
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I can scan to emai directly from the window on the printer.  I would like to be able to set up using the Printer icon on my PC desktop.  So that way if I have multiple pages to be sent I can do that.  From the printer itself, can only send 1 page at a time.  When I try setting is up I get an error message when i click on "save and test"

Hi @carolina4213,

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

This is a great place to get support, find answers

I understand that you are facing a problem with scanning from the computer.

No worries, I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

Are you facing this issue after an update?

Have changed any setting in your printer?

Follow the below steps to fix the issue.

  • First, make sure the printer firmware is up to date. If you are unsure, go to http://hp.care/2dTA5Lp and install the firmware.
  • Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to obtain the IP address.
  • Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
  • Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
  • Click on the radio button which says “Manual IP” and then click “Suggest a manual IP address” to give a manual IP address to your printer.
  • Click on radio button which says “Manual DNS Server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address)

If the issue persists, click here for further assistance.

Keep me posted, how it goes!

If the information I've provided was helpful.

Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.
