Scan to email stopped working on my OfficeJet Pro 8710 a while ago - I have fits and starts where I try to get it working again, this is one of them.

I have a Hotmail email address (this has not changed in over 20 years).  I cannot get the Scan to Email setup to complete successfully, even though I have an application password (provided by Microsoft for applications that cannot use 2 factor authentication.

I have tried multiple SMTP servers (most articles point to smtp.live.com) with SMTP port 587 (some articles have suggested port 465, but I've had no success with this).

I have the box for "Always use secure connection (SSL/TLS)" checked.

I have tried both checked and unchecked for the "Validate server certificate" box.

My Maximum Size of Email is "Unlimited"

Server Authentication is set to "Server requires authentication" with my user name set to my @**bleep** email address, and the password set to the app password provided by Microsoft.

I try sending a test using the "Save and Test" option with an email address unrelated to the configuration email address,  and it fails every time with a message:  "The printer is unable to connect to the remote destination.  Check your configurations and try again.  Click "OK" to go back."

I have the default security certificate on the printer (it's a home printer), but I cannot figure out how to configure the printer properly to again scan to email - anyone able to get this to work and can tell me how?

Thanks!
