Scan to mail and Scan to networkfolder aren't show up

hi,

i want to to set up my scanner.

As i was trying to set it up i was wondering. I couldn't see the scann to mail and scan to network folder in my overview of the printer in the EWS.

Can someone help me to get those necessary options into my EWS? or to help me to resolve my problem in an other way?

Hope to be able to set up my scanner soon.

The Scan to Email and Scan to Network Folder, if available, are under topic Scan in EWS.

If your printer does not support / provide the Scan to Email / Network setup in EWS or the printer control panel, use software on the computer to accomplish these tasks.  (Steps 3-6 in the how-to document.)

Pay attention to the statements in the how-to document concerning the "installed email" program on the computer.

When / If you map your network folder to your computer, use the IP address of the remote system.

If your HP Scan software lacks the visual look and the feel you like, consider:

Download, save, and install   HP Scan Extended – Exceptional free HP scan program:  HP Scan Extended features include (and are not limited to): Single, Multiple scans, Image and PDF scans, Email as PDF / JPEG, Source selection, Page Size choices include Auto-Detect (extracts image / document boundary).  May include OCR (Save as Editable Text).

NOTES

• HPSE is an older subset of the printer software; features are very similar to scan software included in 2015 or newer Full Feature Software packages.
• If you have the newer version of the scan software inside your Full Feature Software, use that: Printer Assistant shortcut icon on Desktop (named for printer) > Scan a document or image (wording varies).
• Although the HPSE program works as a separate program, HPSE is dependent on the infrastructure provided by the printer software. The Full Feature Software for your printer should be installed before installing HPSE.

Add HP Scan Extended shortcut to Taskbar / Send to Desktop / Pin to Start

Open File Explorer > Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP Scan Extended\bin

Right-Click HPScan.exe > Select Pin to Taskbar / Send to Desktop / Pin to Start

But I got the problem that my EWS doesn't show up those option see in screenshot:

I am pretty sure that my printer HP Officejet Pro 7740 is able to scan to mail. I am right?

My question is why isn't it there, can you help me out?

Hi Kauzig,

The HP Officejet Pro 7740 printer does not provide any Digital Filing capabilities such as Scan to Email or Scan to Network Folder.

It support Scan to Email (Up to Letter Size scanning only) using the Scan to Email app within the Apps menu, Scan to Memory Device or Scan to Computer using HP Software.

You may find Page 39 of its user guide below, with any supported scan method for the printer:

@ShlomiL  is more familiar with your device than I; he has provided the correct answer to your question.

So, yes, you can scan to email.

As you found, the printer setup and method shown in my original post is not available on your printer.

You can certainly accomplish the task.

Set up the Apps method described in the User Guide (Page 41-42) and mentioned in @ShlomiL 's post.

Use the software on your computer to scan a document or image to email (Page 43).

Remember to keep Web Services running on the printer.
