We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Synology DS918+
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Trying to setup the scan to network folder on my HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw to be able to scan directly to my Synology DS918+ NAS without success.

I have followed the wizard both on the printers web page and on the desktop software but I can't get it to work.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Many thanks!

I managed to solve this by using the IP address instead of the name of the NAS in the network path setting.

\\192.168.xxx.xxx\Name_of_share

In addition, I created a user on my Synology NAS specifically for the scan to network folder function.

I also used the IP address before the username (i.e. 192.168.xxx.xxx\username) in the Authentication Requirements section.

I'm not entirely sure if BOTH of these are necessary but since I got it working I do not want to play around with the settings.
