Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Officejet Pro 8620
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an OfficeJet Pro 8620 hooked to a Windows 10 HP all-in-one computer. I think i had scan working at one point but when trying to test it now (scan network folder), I get

"A problem occurred during the test. Click "Edit" to check your settings, and then try again."

I have a folder on the PCcalled Scans that i set to share as the user and also added the local administrator to just in case. I set the share to owner for the main user and read/write for the administrator.

The folder security is full control for all.  I disabled both the firewall and the A/V and no matter what I get the error in quotes above.

I even Reset Factory Defaults to see if it would make a difference but nothing at all. This is a home user setup so just one PC that i can test/use with.

I also validated that from the machine itself i can browse \\computername\scans and it comes up without an authentication error. I tried both the local admin account and the account that logs into the pc but in the format of with computername\username and without computername for both accounts and it still fails.

Actually, I believe you can close it. The issue appeared to be an odd DNS issues based on verizon fios between the printer and the PC. When i set the scan path to include computername.fios-router.home (local suffix) it suddentlytested fine.
