I have a DeskJet 4100 all-in-one printer.  I tried to scan the other day for the first time (I've only printed and copied in the past).  

  • I was unable to find a button on the printer itself to initiate a scan.
  • I have the HP Smart app on my phone and did see an option for "Printer Scan".  When I pressed that button, I got a message telling me this feature is not supported by this device.

So HOW am I supposed to scan a document/photo?

Full feature software will enable the scan feature
