I just got a new Windows 11 PC and want to be able to scan with my HP Photosmart C3150, but I can't get it to work. Has anyone done with successfully? Thank you.

HI Betty! Thanks for the help.

I just use this device for the scanner at this point, but I tried the copy button and it went through the motions and spit out a blank page (ink is empty).

The Scan button just makes the power button flash.

I used to use HP Scan and Capture with the C3150 with Windows 10. When I installed it with Windows 11 there's no device to select so the software must no see it.

I installed the HP Scan and Print Doctor. It does see the C3150, and when I tell it I need help scanning it says "The full software solution for your product is not installed on this computer." When I click on Get Installer it takes me here https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-photosmart-c3100-all-in-one-printer-series/11465... And it says "Install the HP Printer Driver and Software provided within your operating system." It defaults to Windows 10, and Windows 11 is not an option.

Seems like there's something else I need to install, but I don't know what.

If you're unable to copy, it could be hardware issue.

 

Let's try to reset the Printer here:

 

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.

I recommend you to contact the HP Support Team regarding this as this could be a hardware issue.

Seeing a similar issue trying to install C3180 on Windows 11.  Print and Scan doctor sees the printer is connected, but not installed.  No way to install a driver, as the HP driver download page says the driver is included with the OS.
