Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

When I try to scan I get the message: You do not have permission to open the application “HP Scanner 3”. Contact administrator. I am the only user and the administrator.  I just updated the drivers and still get same message. Printing and copying work fine.

I understand you are not able to scan from your Mac. To assist you better, which app are you using to scan?

 

Kindly follow the steps mentioned in this document - 'You do not have permission to open the application HP Scanner 3' error (macOS)

 

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your Mac.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

 

Also, check for any software updates on Mac

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.
