Scanjeg G4010 utility program cannot be installed on Windows 11

Cannot install the utility program for ScanJet G4010. The driver is installed and the scanner works ok,

Try this Solution:

1. Download only this file: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
2. Close all programs

Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo > in folder Downloads double-click on the msi.

OPTIONAL:

Add HP Scan Extended shortcut to Taskbar / Send to Desktop / Pin to Start
• Open File Explorer > Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP Scan Extended\bin
• Right-Click on "HPScan.exe" > Select Pin to Taskbar / Send to Desktop / Pin to Start

Thank you for your suggestion. The installation process worked flawlessly wihthout error messages and scanning several pages into one document worked better than with the utility program that came with the scanner. It scans A4 pages into A4 output pages and I did not have to cut the scanned document to size. It went automatically. In this regard the new program is definitely better than the original.
