Scanjet 3970
Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and older

Have a scanjet 3970 that worked great.  Had to reload iOS on new HD.   Now can’t find drivers for the 3970.  Any suggestions?

Hi,

The HP Scanjet 3970 scanner is not supported on Macintosh computers and no drivers are available.

You may try the 3rd party VueScan application and check, it seems it should support your scanner:

Appreciate your response.  What bothers me is that when I bought the scanner, Mac support was available and nwo it is not.  There is nothing wrong with the scanner-the problem was with my hard drive.  So my choices are to either try the vuescan (which I tried and didn't work), or buy a new scanner.  Which based upon all of this, I won;t be looking at another HP scanner due to their dropping the available drivers for this scanner.

Thanks for the reply, but it was.  I used it for a long time, then I had to install a new hard drive.  I am still convinced that hp has the old drivers somewhere.
