Scanner Does Not Detect ADF - 8034e

I'm going to throw it. Never had so many issues.  But now it will not use the ADF instead of the glass and I need to make a .pdf.  I've unplugged it, I've reset it (three times now). I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled. Anyone? Someone? Have the answers?  Why does it only go to the glass and not take the documents from the feeder?  I don't have the option to create a pdf.  I have tried this to the computer through HP Smart and I tried to do using my widget directly in the printer.  Nothing.

If you have not done so,

Restart everything, including the router that controls the network

Note

In this context, "Restarting" does not mean "unplug".

Next,

"Computer" might indicate you are using a recent, supported version of Windows.

"Widget" might indicate you are trying to scan from the printer to the computer.

AND

Note that Scanning from the printer to the computer requires that you install the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software.  After the printer software is installed, "Enable" Scan to computer.  See example later in this message in section References / Resources / Examples

The printer might need to be cleaned.

 Automatic document feeder does not pick paper or feeds too many sheets

Step 1 - Clean the ADF

HP Smart does not (at this writing) include a Preset to select the Source.

Note the settings / limitations for Resolution and Source.

Adjust the settings each time.

If you have not done so, consider

If the software is already installed and you want to "reinstall":

Uninstall the printer software from Programs and Features

Restart the computer and log in

Check that all the pieces of the printer software have been removed - if anything is deleted, Restart computer and log in

Next,

Download, Save, (then) Install new copy of the printer software

After the software in installed, Restart the computer and log in
