Hello.
I recently bought this Multi-Function Printer. When I try to scan a picture from a book, the scan keeps changing to 95-96dpi even though I specicy what dpi I want in 300dpi.
Below is a screenshot to show you what I mean:
But when I scan it, it ends up being 95-96 pixels when I try TIFF, JPEG or PNG or even worse: 72 pixels if I scan it as BMP.
To add to this, I tried using the Scan To software that came with the printer and surprisingly, in there, the resolution came out correctly!
BUT! The scans looked awful.
I'll attach a jpeg from Scan To so you can see.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the driver but no luck there either.
I have no idea what is causing the problem and help would be very much appreciated.

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Forums.
Can you try this alternative scan solution:
HP Scan Extended
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"
Let us know if that works.

Hi,
Thank you so much for your response! I downloaded it and it solved the problem. As for the page I scanned, it just happened to be of very bad quality. I tried another page from the book and it worked fine. Thank you so much!
