I understand you are facing an issue with the scanner and copier features of your HP OfficeJet 4650 All-in-One Printer stop working, it could be due to a variety of reasons, including software issues, driver problems, or hardware malfunctions.
Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
Step 1: Restart Your Printer and Computer
- Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Shut down your computer.
- Wait for about 30 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- Turn on your computer and check if the scanner and copier functions work.
Step 2: Check Connections
- Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer via USB or network.
- If using a USB connection, try using a different USB port or cable.
- If using a network connection, ensure the printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
Step 3: Update or Reinstall Drivers

- Go to the HP support website: HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads.
- Enter your printer model (HP OfficeJet 4650) and select your operating system (Windows 11).

- Go to "Scan" or "Copy" settings.
- Make sure the correct settings are selected and that the scanner is recognized.
Step 7: Check for Hardware Issues
- Open the scanner lid and check for any obstructions or debris.
- Ensure the scanner glass is clean.
- Try performing a copy directly from the printer's control panel to see if it works without involving the computer.
Step 8: Reset the Printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then reconnect the power cord to the printer.
