Own the printer HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw since a few days and am not able to make the scanner work (WIA error detected by HP Smart), while printing works fine. The printer is attached to a local home network through LAN and included in the same domain as the computer (using Windows 11).
Have tried every hint found on the Web but did not succeed (checked that all services are running, used latest drivers and windows update, turned off firewall, re-installed drivers several times after cleaning up all existing HP folders, restarted router/printer/computer, using HP Print and Scan Doctor & HP Smart). What is strange: the functionality 'Scan to Computer' launched from the printer itself works and opens the dependent application on my computer, but launching the scanning process from the computer fails.
At the moment I feel a little bit lost, any additional hint from someone?

Could finally solve the issue on my own, in the end, it was so logical: there was a scanner flag not ticked in the administrator section of the printer settings accessed by EWS (Embedded Web Server) through my browser:
