Error Code 22 in HP scanners typically means that there is an issue that the system is unable to automatically resolve. To address this problem, try the following steps:
 

Reset the Scanner:
 

  • Turn off the scanner.
  • Disconnect the power supply from the scanner.
  • Wait for about a minute.
  • Reconnect the power supply and turn the scanner back on.


Check Connections:
 

  • Ensure that all cables are properly connected.
  • Make sure that the USB or network cable is securely connected between the scanner and the computer.


Software Troubleshooting:
 

  • Restart your computer to see if that resolves the issue.
  • If the problem persists, uninstall and then reinstall the scanner software using the CD that came with your scanner or download the latest software from the https://support.hp.com/us-en.
