Scanner not working. It keeps giving error. Used the hp Scan doctor. It got stucked at WIA. Restarted. It didn't work. In services, the WIA turned to automatic. Still wouldnt work. I found the following solution, tried it too. I found I didn't find DIM listed.
- Click the Windows icon (
). - In the Search for Programs and Files box, type msconfig, and then press Enter.
- Click the Startup tab.
- Under the Startup Item column, look for Digital Imaging Monitor, and then make sure that it is enabled.
NOTE:If the Digital Imaging Monitor is not listed, the HP software did not install correctly.
I observed Digital Imaging Monitor is not listed. Only hpwuSchd Application and HpStatusAlert
And I didnt seem to have issiues while installing lately. I have uninstalled and re-installed severally between yesterday and today.
AGAIN,
I found this:
Check the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) services:
- Click the Windows icon (
), type services.msc in the Search programs and files box, and then click the services.msc link under Programs. If prompted, click Yes. - In the Services window, right-click Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service, and then click Properties.
- Click the Dependencies tab.
- Make sure that Remote Procedure Call (RPC) and Shell Hardware Detection are listed, and then close the Properties window.
- In the main Services window, make sure that Remote Procedure Call (RPC) and Shell Hardware Detection show as Started in the Status column. If they do not, continue to the next step to start the service.
- In the Services window, right-click Windows Image Acquisition.
- If the option to start the service is available, click Start.
- If the option to stop the service is available, click Stop. When the service stops, right-click Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) again, and then start the service.
- Close the Services window.
between line 3 & 4, especially on line 4, I found out that Shell Hardware Detection was not listed
Please, what else can i do?

Thank you very much Investa,
I had to go through all tehe checks again. Having satisfied all, I decided to try one that I strongly felt cant be the issue. I disabled and unplug other gadget table and plugged the printer directly to the single socket available... and it worked!
So, SOLUTION: I plugged it directly to the wall socket and it worked.
Thanks for your time.
