My last successful scan to my computer from the HP Photosmart 6525 was on October 11, 2021. A Windows 10 update was applied to my laptop on November 10, 2021 (2021-11 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 21H1). When I open the Windows Scan app, it gives the message: Problem connecting to scanner. I have tried to "Manage" the scanner using the Windows Setup feature, and the HP Photosmart 6525 is not shown as a connected device.
If I attempt to scan from the HP Photosmart 6525 using the Scan to Computer icon, I get the message: No Computer Found.
I am NOT having a problem with Printing to the HP Photosmart 6525 .

Hello @DannyMc3 ,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Try these steps first:
- shut down printer via on/off switch
- switch off the router
- shut down the computer
- wait about 60 sec.
- switch on the router, wait until the router has completely initialized itself again
- Switch on the printer, wait until the printer has finished its initialization
- switch on computer, log in (with admin rights) and wait about 10 sec.
... and now everything's working again?
If not, then download this software only: HP Photosmart 6520 e-All-in-One Printer Full Feature Software and Drivers
- Disconnect printer/scanner from computer- Disable WLAN, WiFi and/or remove the USB or LAN cable.- Do not switch off the printer >> unplug the power cord from the socket!
- right-click Start, search for "control panel" and open "Programs and Features"
uninstall all HP printer software > via "Programs and Features" - right-click Start, search for "control panel" and open "Devices and Printers"
In the "Devices and Printers" window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.” - Reconnect the printer to the power supply and switch it on (if this does not happen automatically)
- Please note: WLAN has to be deactivated!
- Restart the PC
- Close all programs
- Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo > in folder Downloads click on the EXE.
- The installation was completed successfully, now you must ...
- Restart the PC again
- Now the installation is complete.
Document error messages accurately, even better is to take a screenshot of it and upload here.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I tried the first seven steps, and those actions did not solve my problem. I do not totally understand how to perform the second set of 11 steps. However since I had the scan error, I have discovered and used the HP Smart app to Scan and that worked great. I will continue to use that application to scan any documents.
Thanks for your help.
