I scan from my computer using "C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 series\bin\HPScan.exe". From the main page, I select Document, 1-sided, page size - Legal(8.5 x 14 inches), Source Document Feeder if loaded, color, PDF, Local or Network folder. From More, Image, I select resolution - 150 ppi. Then I feed a 14" document into the automatic feeder and say "scan". It scans about 11 inches, spits out the document and pats itself on the back for having done such a good job. How can I make it scan the full 14 inches?

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Support Community.
Can you try to install HP Smart app from Microsoft store?
After installing HP Smart, "add Printer" to HP Smart then select Scan.
It should be able to scan Lega size document from the Automatic Document Feeder from the above settings.
Hope that helps!

Thanks, Green Turtle,
Your solution worked perfectly and I will use the HP Smart scan in the future when I need to scan a legal size document. It is a shame, however, that HP Scan does not function correctly in this situation, as it has a richer option set and I use it for 99% of my scans.
Thanks for your work-acound.

Hi @fingers01
Try this software:
HP Scan Extended
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"
It's a standalone software and we're able to scan legal size as well.
Hope that helps!
