Hi @adiospues,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you've done a lot of the basic troubleshooting already. Here are a few additional steps you can try to address the issue.
- Clean the Scanner Glass: Sometimes, dust or smudges on the scanner glass can cause scanning problems. Gently clean the scanner glass with a soft, lint-free cloth and some glass cleaner.
- Check the Scanner Calibration: Some HP printers have a calibration feature that you can run to help fix scanning issues. Check your printer's manual or the HP software for instructions on how to perform a calibration.
- Inspect the Scanner Rollers: If there's any debris or dust on the scanner rollers, it could affect the scan quality. Make sure the rollers are clean and free from any obstruction.
- Perform a Hard Reset: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 60 seconds, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Update Firmware: Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check for firmware updates through the HP software on your computer or on the HP website.
- Test with Different Scanning Software: Sometimes the issue might be with the scanning software. Try using a different scanning application, such as Windows Fax and Scan or a third-party scanning app, to see if the problem persists.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, the problem might be related to a hardware fault in the scanner mechanism itself.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
