I have an HP ScanJet Professional 1000 Mobile Scanner. I was attempting to transfer it to a new Windows 10 Tower - it currently works on a Windows 10 computer - so I didn't think it'd be a big deal. I had to download the software and driver off the HP site because I cannot find the original disk that came with the scanner - I think it got lost when the room it was in had to be emptied for a project. My unit was purchased in 2013 but the software on the HP website is from 2015.
Once the software was installed, the computer acknowledges that the scanner is there but when I attempt to scan I get "Please put paper in ADF". The paper is in the ADF. It's like it couldn't find it. I disconnect the scanner from the new computer, move to the old computer, and plug it into the old computer, and it works perfectly fine. To me that means that the scanner (and the cord) are probably fine. So why does that happen on the new computer tower? How do I fix it? I really don't want to have to scan files onto one computer and then move them to a separate computer.
Thanks!
