For several years my scanner when loading documents in the document feeder never comes out straight. I’ve cleaned the rollers but every image down towards the bottom is slightly crooked and looks unprofessional. I have a laser jet pro MFP M283fdw. Please help!

Hi @Dgatlin74,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your scanner is consistently producing slightly crooked scans, even after cleaning the rollers, there are a few potential causes and solutions you can try:
Check Document Alignment: Ensure that the documents you're scanning are aligned properly in the document feeder tray. Even a slight misalignment can cause the scans to appear crooked. Make sure the edges of the documents are flush against the sides of the feeder tray.
Check Document Condition: Make sure the documents you're scanning are in good condition and free from wrinkles, folds, or tears. Damaged documents can cause feeding issues and result in crooked scans.
Adjust Paper Guides: Some scanners have adjustable paper guides in the document feeder tray. Check if your scanner has these guides and adjust them to securely hold the documents in place.
Clean the Scanner Glass: Even though you've cleaned the rollers, there may be debris on the scanner glass that's affecting the scan alignment. Use a clean, lint-free cloth and glass cleaner to thoroughly clean the scanner glass.
Update Scanner Drivers and Firmware: Ensure that your scanner drivers and firmware are up to date. Sometimes, software updates can improve the performance of the scanner and resolve alignment issues.
Calibrate Scanner: Some scanners have a calibration process that can help improve scan accuracy. Check the scanner's user manual or settings menu for calibration options and follow the instructions provided.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
