Product: HP ENVY 5530

When scanning a document to email, I used to be able to save it as a pdf.  Today when I scanned a document, it came through as text.  How can I get it to scan as a pdf again? Thank you.

Documents scan as text and not as pdf.  They used to scan as pdf.  I noticed the scanned document used to come from eprintcenter@hp.com and now it comes from eprintcenter@hp8.us.  I didn't do anything to make that change.  What's going on?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

 

Are you using the scan to email feature on the printer?

  1. Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to obtain the IP address.
  2. Type the IP address at the top of your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
  3. If you get any security notification, click on show details/advanced and 'proceed to this website'.
  4. Go to Scan > Scan to email > Change the settings under 'save as' to PDF.
  5. Try scanning.

Unfortunately, Kumar0307, that did not work.  When I went to the EWS page on my computer, it didn't show Scan to email.  It showed Scan to computer >Webscan.  I did change it to pdf, but it still doesn't work properly.  I have pdfs to make.  Changes were made to the printer and I didn't make the changes.

In that case, you will have to use the full-featured driver installed on the computer to make changes.

Are you using a MAC or a Win PC?

Refer to this document to change the settings. (applies to ENVY printers)

Alternatively, you may watch this video for a better understanding.

It looks like HP has taken care of this matter.  I tried scanning to email today and it came through as a pdf.  I hope it stays that way!

 

Kumar0307, you tried to help but I wasn't able to do what you said might be a solution.
