Officejet Pro 8600 Plus
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

We have an Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer and we wish to Scan Multiple pages via the adf but require 1 saved file per page.  These are being saved to a designated network folder and are currently being saved as one large file.  I have the HP Smart software installed, however, I cannot see where this setting can be amended.

We have previously achieved this with other printers of the same model but cannot see what we are missing this time.

Any help would be appreciated.

Scott

Hi @Scott1889,

I'd like to help!

Use the printer control panel to scan a document and save it to a folder on the network.

NOTE:

In order to use this feature, the printer must be connected to a network and the Scan to Network Folder feature must be configured by using the Scan to Network Folder Setup Wizard (Windows) or the HP Embedded Web Server. For instructions on configuring the feature, go to Set up Scan to Network Folder.

  1. Load the document on the scanner glass according to the indicators on the printer.

  2. From the Home screen on the printer control panel, touch the Scan icon.

  3. Touch the Scan to Network Folder item.

  4. In the list of network folders, select the folder to which you want to save the document.

  5. The control panel screen displays the scan settings.

    • If you want to change any of the settings, touch the Settings button, and then change the settings.

    • If the settings are correct, go to the next step.

  6. Touch the Scan button to start the scan job

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Many thanks for your post,

The Network folder is set up and there is no issue with single page scans.  What we are trying to achieve is scanning multiple pages via the ADF but to save a separate file for each page.  It is currently saving all pages to one file.

I have the HP Smart software on my PC but cannot find an option to amend this setting.

Many thanks,

Scott

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.  Apologies for jumping in here.

Believed it is possible with the HP Full software solution:

https://support.hp.com/sg-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-officejet-pro-8600-plus-e-all-in-one-p...

Once installed, start up HP Scan.

Watch the following resource:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9I2nMWPkms

at time 0:52, there is an "Advanced Settings"

Under the Advanced Settings, there are 3 tabs,  Scan, File and Destination.

Do make sure that your Source is set as "Use Document feeder if loaded"

Check on either File or Destination, there should have a checkbox for "Separate file for each scanned page" option.

Once that box is checked and when you scan the multiple pages, it will be saved as individual files.

This newer software on a later Officejet model shows it can be done.  The older software which the Officejet 8600 Plus has that option too.

Hope that helps!
