I have an Envy 7858 and, to be very specific, am trying to scan pages from an old photograph album that contains several photos per page. I want to be able to save each of the photos on the page as it's own individual jpg.
My old, late HP All-In-One came with scanning software that detected multiple photos while scanning and allowed me to save each of them as jpgs individually.
Does the HP Envy have an option or software that will do this with one scan?
Again, to be specific, I'm NOT talking about multipage PDF scanning. I'm talking about multi-picture jpgs on one scan.
I'm seeing the same question from other users without a definite answer. Instead there's a link, which implies there is a way. This is followed by the questioner replying that the link was not helpful because it did not answer their question. Then, for whatever reason, the question either doesn't get answered or gets confusing with talk about scanning multi-page PDFs.
Please advise & have a wonderful day.
Thank you.

Hi,
Download and install the full feature HP Software, HP Scan offers such functionality:
Following the installation open HP Scan and select Save as JPEG.
Ensure the scan type is set as Photo, the source as Flatbed Glass and the size as Auto Detect.
Be sure to keep some spacing between the original photos and the HP Scan software should crop multiple pictures automatically.

Hi,
I was able to download the HP scan app & followed the instructions as you suggested. I can hear the printer scanning back & forth, but then I got a pop-up window on my desktop that says "An error occurred while scanning". It gives me no more explanation - I can only click "OK".
Do you have any suggestions as to what I may try?
Thank you

What scanning resolution are you currently use?
If this is an high resolution, please lower it first and try again first, this may occur due to connectivity problems and with higher resolutions the connectivity may affect even further in such a way.
Also, from the search bar type CMD, right-click on Command-Line and select Run as Administrator, be sure to confirm any prompt by pressing Yes.
Past the following command and press enter:
Sc config stisvc depend= rpcss/ShellHWDetection
Now restart your computer and try scanning again, may you see any difference?
