We just set up the HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 and I downloaded the software onto my laptop but when I go to scan multiple pages it will not let me save them as one document. I checked the settings and Merge is disabled but it is grayed out and will not let me check it to enable. How do I change this as I need to scan 18 pages into one document.

Scanning issues…
Please try this scan solution:
HP Scan Extended
For Windows: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"
Make searchable PDF scans with this free scanning software - https://www.naps2.com/
Now with HP Scan make sure you screen shows EXACTLY the following. Must have 300 dpi set, Destination/File Type and hit the + sign to show more. Make sure Separate file for each scanned page is unchecked.
Let us know.

Hi,
Please don't ask me why but please try
(a) Put document(s) face up on ADF,
(b) Open software and select Scan a Document or Photo,
(c) Select 1-sided or 2-sided for PDF
(d) Click Scan (ignore "Merge"). It will scan page 1, 2 ....
(e) At the end click Save
It will save all pages in one PDF file.
Regards.
