Can scan from my laptop perfectly, although unable to scan from printer's LED control panel display. Receive notification: "To scan to a computer, use the HP software on your computer to set up the feature first." HP Smart is installed on my computer but unable to "manage" scan settings to enable scanning from touch control panel display.

Hello @Jay_dee22 ,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
The HP software must be completely uninstalled and removed of the system.
First download only this complete package: "HP OfficeJet 8010 All-in-One Print and Scan Driver and Accessories ", File name: OJ8010_Full_WebPack_49.3.4475.exe (119.7 MB)
Next...
- uninstall all HP software > via "Uninstalling the Printer Software (Windows) "
- Restart the PC
- Close all programs
- Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo > in folder Downloads click on the EXE, see above.
Wait until the installation asks to connect the printer.
Document error messages, even better is a screenshot and upload here.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
Andreas
