I would like to scan documents from the printer hp4133e to save in my computer. What’s the best way to do that?

Download the HP Smart App:

  • The HP Smart app is available for free. You can download it from your app store or from 123.hp.com.

Connect Devices:

  • Ensure that your printer and your computer or mobile device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Load the Document:

  • Place your document on the scanner glass or into the document feeder (if your printer has one).

Open HP Smart App:

  • Launch the HP Smart app from your computer or mobile device.

Select Printer:

  • From the HP Smart home screen, scroll to your printer and then select the Scan tile.

Document Source:

  • Select the source of your scan. You can choose to import a file from your computer or mobile device, capture an image using your device camera, or select the scanner on your printer.

Begin Scan:

  • Select the Scan option to begin the scan.

Adjust Boundaries (Optional):

  • If needed, you can adjust the boundaries of the scanned item. When you are done, save the changes.

Save or Share:

  • From here, you can print, save, or share your scan.

Additional Features

Scan to Email:

  • Place your document onto the scanner glass or into the document feeder.
  • On the printer control panel, tap Scan, then tap Scan to Email. Select the email address you want to send the scan to, adjust the scan settings, then tap Scan. Tap OK on the “Successfully Sent” screen, and add additional pages if needed. Finish the scan process.

Scan to Cloud:

  • Set up an HP account for cloud scanning.
  • On the printer control panel, tap Scan, then tap Scan to Cloud, and select HP Cloud. Follow instructions to set up your account if you haven't done so yet. Adjust scan settings and tap Scan.

Scan to USB:

  • Insert a USB device into the printer’s USB port.
  • On the printer control panel, tap Scan, then tap Scan to USB. Enter a file name, adjust scan settings, and tap the green button to send the scan to the USB drive. Plug the USB drive into your computer to view the scan.
