Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a client with 2 HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 printers.  One at home one at the office.  Both are accessed over wireless.  His laptop is able to print to both devices.  However, scanning is locked to the home printer.  Is there a means of allowing both printers to scan to one laptop?

Hi @JustPlainMe,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

I understand that you are facing scanning issues. I would need a few more details to assist you further.

Could you please tell me what happens when you try to scan from the home printer? Are you getting any errors?

Are both the printers in the same location? What application are you using for scanning?

Let me know.

My understanding is that the home scanner works without issue.

He is able to print to both devices.

The issue comes when scanning from the office device.  The scanning capabilities are tied to the home device so here is no communication.

These printers are in different locations on completely different networks.

Thanks for the reply.

Hi @JustPlainMe,

Thanks for replying.

if the printers are in a different location then he cannot scan to his home computer as they should be in the same location. However, he can do a scan to email.

Are you using any VPN or using any e-print? Kindly give me more details.

Hi Elohi_NR

First, this is a laptop that moves between the locations.  He is able to scan from the home printer.  Printing works to the office printer but not scanning since the software is configured for the home device.

No VPN connection is in use.  Both printers are connected to through wireless networks.

Scan to email may be a good solution for the office device.  I'll discuss this with the client to see if this will work.

Thank you!
