Hi I am from India, having HP Desk Jet Ink Advantage 2676 All-in-One Printer. After upgrading my laptop from Window 10 to window 11, I started getting error message as
-
“Scanning is currently unavailable” error (HP Smart App). I did all procedure as per link, however error could not resolve, Hence as per link I have started contact support. When I have started putting serial no of printer as [Personal Information Removed], the portal is saying not valid serial no. However in warranty check I did get

Product Number Y5Z03B
Means serial no is valid but not working in contact support part of portal/app ( HP smart App)
AND FRUSTRATING PART IS UNLESS YOU PUT SR NO YOU WILL NOT GET SUPPORT FROM HP AND HP IS NOT ACCEPTING THE SR NO THOUGH IT IS VALID AS PER HP THRU WARRANTY CHECK STATUS.
NOW ANOTHER THING I HAVE TRIED TO CHECK SUPPORT AGENT & HP PORTAL SAYS NO AGENT IN YOUR AREA. HENCE WITH WINDOW 11 UNABLE TO SCAN. ALL HARDWARE IS PROPER HP SMART APP ALSO CHECKED GIVING THE SAME RESULT.
I STUCK UP SINCE EXTREMELY POOR SUPPORT FROM HP. NOT EVEN HAVING TEL NOS FOR SUPPORT.

HP Support does not generally accept out-of-warranty requests and - with the exception of a brief period at the beginning of the device Warranty -- does not cover software issues.

Yes, normally the uninstall / reinstall of the app would help...
The Reset requires that your reconfigure HP Smart -- sign in and add printer

After the HP Smart Application is Uninstalled from Settings > Apps > Apps & Features
Restart the computer and log in
Use Easy Start OR Get a new copy of the application from the Microsoft Store
The Installation requires that your reconfigure HP Smart -- sign in and add printer

Upgrading the Operating System to a different version usually breaks (corrupts) the installed full driver printer software.

Uninstall Existing Printer Software (Full Feature Software)
Uninstall HP printer software and drivers
Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features >
Find / Select > Uninstall the printer software
Restart the computer and sign in
Reminder:
Windows > Uninstall HP printer software > Restart.
Next,
Open Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers
Check > If the printer is found, Right-Click and Remove the printer
If you have to "remove" the printer, next: Restart the computer and sign in
NOTE: If software will not uninstall, appears to be removed and is “still hanging around” after you uninstall / Restart...

Method - Use the Easy Start Software to Install HP Smart and / or the Full Feature / Full Driver Software
Installation Package - Information and Download / Save
- Open Home Page - HP Easy Start >> Click to open Category Software and Drivers
- Download and Save the current version of the Easy Start Software installation package to install your print software
Easy Start can be used to install your printer software and / or the HP Smart application.
If the HP Smart Application is (already) Uninstalled, Use Easy Start OR Get a new copy of the application from the Microsoft Store
If you want to install the full driver printer software, choose the "Full Software and Drivers" option during the Easy Start installation procedure.
Basic Instructions - Install the Full Feature Software / Full Driver printer software
Preparation
- If the printer software is still / already installed, Uninstall the printer software from Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features > Restart the computer and log in – Reference Uninstall HP printer software and drivers
>>> After the printer software is uninstalled, check that the printer is not still lurking in Devices and Printers.
If the printer is listed, Right-Click on the printer and "Remove" > Restart the computer and sign in.
- If using VPN, shut it off to install software. NOTE >> If you don’t know what this is, you are not using a VPN – ignore this part.
- Reminder: If using USB cable between printer and computer, disconnect the cable before installing software. Later... Connect the cable when instructed (near the end of the installation procedure).
- Observation: It is possible (assuming your Wireless Network is stable) that using a Wireless connection to install the printer software might work better than using an Ethernet Connection. Personal choice - the Wireless connection method is recommended when you face insurmountable issues installing the software.
Installation
- Download and Save the Full Feature Software installation package or the Easy Start Software
- Open File Explorer
- Navigate to the folder in which you saved the installation file (likely Downloads)
- Right-Click on the installation package and “Run as Administrator”
- After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in
If using Easy Start
- Skip any extra software / offers you do not want – Wording varies as does the number of times you have to “skip” or opt-out of various options.
- When asked, opt for "Full Software and Drivers" (exact wording might vary).

- If, after the Full Software and Drivers option is selected, the installation terminates (suddenly stops and disappears – never comes back): Open your Downloads folder > Look for and Right-Click on the full Web installation package and “Run as Administrator”

Settings > Devices > Printers and scanners
UNCHECK (clear box) Let Windows manage my default printer
Select (Left-Click) your printer from the list of printers > Manage > Set as Default
