1) Trying to create a JPG (instead of a PDF) of an image by using the following selection.
Scan > Network Folder > Scanned Documents > Options > File Type
But I am getting the following response and unable to change the default file type.
This file option is not editable. Contact your system administrator.
2) I am also not seeing any resolution higher than 300 dpi using this selection.
Scan > Network Folder > Scanned Documents > Options > Resolution
I am confused because the specification for this printer indicates the following:
* Scan file format - JPG; PDF; PNG; TIF
* Scan resolution - Up to 1200 dpi
So I am hoping someone can help me resolve these issues.

@drochel, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
You're encountering a couple of limitations that are tied to how the HP Smart Tank 7602 handles Network Folder scanning. Let me break this down and offer clear solutions:
Problem 1: "This file option is not editable. Contact your system administrator."
When using the "Scan to Network Folder" feature, the file format and other options may be locked or predefined in the HP Embedded Web Server (EWS) or in HP Smart Admin settings.
Access the HP Embedded Web Server (EWS):
Open a browser.
Type the IP address of your printer (you can find it by printing a network configuration page).
Example: http://192.168.1.100
Log in as Administrator.
Go to the “Scan” or “Digital Filing” section and look for:
Scan to Network Folder Settings.
Modify or recreate the destination profile to allow JPG format.
Edit File Type Options:
When creating or editing a network folder profile, you should be able to select JPG as the file format if you're an admin.
Problem 2: Scan Resolution Limited to 300 dpi
Again, this is related to the Scan to Network Folder feature. HP limits this feature to 300 dpi to reduce scan times and file sizes over the network. Higher resolutions are only available in:
HP Smart App
HP Scan software
Direct USB scanning
Scanning via USB-connected PC
If you want to scan at up to 1200 dpi and save as JPG, do not use Scan to Network Folder. Instead, try one of these:
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
