HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Recently purchased an HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 printer. Is there a way to duplex scan multiple pages and send them to Microsoft Word 2010 all at once without copying and pasting each page one at a time?

I'm running Windows 10, 64 bit.

You can scan documents first on your computer and then in Word copy/paste or import.

There is a walkaround to use Word for scanning

I was able to make a shortcut to scan in Word. But the shortcut will only scan one page at a time. Is there some way to change that?

What I have done is use the hp program on the pc to duplex scan. It saves the pages as single pages. (I changed it from saving as pdf to jpeg because jpeg was easier to read.) I then right-clicked on each single page and chose to 'copy' it. Then I went to Word and displayed the clipboard with Windows Key + V. But when I left-click on one of the saved documents in the clipboard, the clipboard disappears and i have to keep pressing Windows Key + V and choosing the next document on the clipboard. It gets old after a while.

Here is the best way I have found so far that allows all the pages to go to Word all at once. Please pardon the 'all caps'. I typed this as a note to myself so I would remember it.

TO DUPLEX SCAN DOCUMENTS TO WORD:

OPEN THE HP PRINTER ASSISTANT BY PRESSING THE MICROSOFT KEY ON THE LOWER LEFT OF THE DESKTOP.

LEFT CLICK ON THE PRINTER ICON IF YOU HAVE IT PINNED TO START, OR OPEN IT FROM THE LIST OF PROGRAMS

SCAN AS DUPLEX AND SAVE AS .JPEG.

CLICKING ON 'SAVE SCAN' WILL SAVE SCAN TO C DRIVE DOCUMENTS.

AFTER CLICKING SAVE, FILE EXPLORER WILL OPEN AND THE SCANNED DOCUMENTS WILL BE HIGHLIGHTED.

"SNAP" FILE EXPLORER TO ONE SIDE OF THE DESKTOP.

OPEN WORD AND SELECT ALL THE PAGES FROM FILE EXPLORER, HOLD DOWN CONTROL AND SELECT ALL THE SCANNED FILES BY LEFT CLICKING ON ALL OF THEM  OR LEFT CLICK ON THE FIRST ONE AND HOLD DOWN THE SHIFT KEY AND LEFT CLICK ON THE LAST ONE. THAT WILL 'CHOOSE' ALL THE FILES.

HOLD DOWN CONTROL KEY AND DRAG AND DROP ALL CHOSEN, HIGHLIGHTED FILES TO THE WORD DOCUMENT.

EACH PAGE WILL BE ON A SEPARATE PAGE IN THE WORD DOCUMENT.

Please let me know if there is a way to scan duplex directly to Word 2010.

Thanks All.
