Is there any way, outside of downloading additional software to scan multiple pages from the ADF into individual pdfs. As far as i can tell the ability to do this through settings was completely gutted in the last year or so, i cannot even change my ADF settings to save as JPEGs.

Hi,
Open the HP Officejet Pro 8710 software and click on Scan a document or photo.
Select the Save as PDF shortcut and press More >> on the top-right side.
Open the Destination tab and then click the File Type drop-down menu.
Check the box next to "Separate files for each scanned page" and press OK.
Click the Save icon near the shortcut name, or create a new scan shortcut to save the changes and scan using that shortcut.

Shlomi,
Thank you for your reply, i believe I am missing something. As far as I know, the only tools i have available to me to operate the scanner are the "HP Smart" App, and the "Windows Fax and Scan" application. I am unable to find any "save as pdf" shortcuts from either of these applications, I am however, able to individually save documents scanned in from the "Windows Fax and Scan" application as JPG files, but am unable to change the file type to PDF. Thank you in advance for any further assistance.

You are missing the HP Software which provide more advanced options.
Follow HP Easy Start by selecting to install the HP Basic or Full Feature software, then follow my steps above:
