Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended

I have an HP 7155 All-in-One printer and used HP Smart to scan multiple pages.  Unfortunately I got a message that I had exceeded memory capability and need to start over.

Would it be better to scan half the document and save, then repeat that and try to merge the files later,   Or will I be able to scan the entire document to an SD card?

Hi @AGL_MSP,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how  it must have been to get that memory error after scanning so many pages, thank you for sharing the details with us.

Here are a few suggestions you can try :

  1. Scan in smaller batches: Yes, scanning half the document and saving it as a PDF, then repeating and later merging the files, is often the most reliable approach when memory limits are reached.
  2. Use the “Save as PDF” option: After each batch, save directly to PDF instead of keeping everything in memory. This reduces the chance of hitting the memory cap.
  3. Check HP Smart settings: In the app, look for “Multi‑page PDF” or “Continuous Scan” options these can sometimes handle larger jobs more efficiently.
  4. Scan directly to computer storage: Instead of scanning to the printer’s internal memory, scan straight to your PC or laptop. This bypasses the printer’s memory limitations.
  5. SD card scanning: The HP 7155 does support saving scans to an SD card, but depending on file size and format, it may still split large jobs. It’s worth testing with a smaller set first.

I hope this helps.
