We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

HP Officejet Pro 7720
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just installed software for 7720 from HP website.  Open printer from Desktop shortcut, go to scan a document or photo and get the message "The HP Officejet Pro 7720 was not found."  I am able to print to the printer from this PC.  I have run the HP Scan fix tool.  Still doesn't work.  Need help.

Was the FULL feature software installed?

The full feature software was installed.  Scanning wouldn't work but printing does.  Deleted printer and software.  Re-installed full feature software.  Same results as before.

If the issue persists, try to completely reinstall the drivers as suggested below:
 

  • First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Officejet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Now click  https://support.hp.com/sg-en/drivers to install the software.
  • Select the connectivity of your choice and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

I simply want to scan a document to my computer over my wireless network.  I can verify the printer is online, it prints (sometimes but that is a story for another day).   I have attempted to fix the scan to computer repeatedly and to be honest I keep hoping that HP will take care of their customers.  If I wanted to run a cmd prompt I would use Linux.  Just go reread your instructions and tell me that a non admin person will succeed doing this?  Anyway try number three still no ability to scan to computer.

and try number three fails.  Scan to computer is disabled please contact the person who set up this computer.  Well that is me and all there is to try is uninstall and reinstall.   Windows 10 home, wireless network connection only to printer.
