Okay   USB connected   to my laptop.   My laptop sees the HP Deskjet 3050A J611 series just fine.  I WANT TO SCAN.   But the printer says no PC is connected.  I have been dicking with this **bleep** since 3PM today CST.  HP has been useless.   I doubt anyone will help.   but I can be reached at [Private information removed]   BTW ... old laptop, old printer, old man.    Not grouchy.  Just discouraged.

@Yourgasm8, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I need additional information to assist you better:

Are you using a Win 10 computer?

Are you able to print from the computer?

For now, run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix scanning'.

For more info on scanning, refer to - How to scan

Keep me posted.

Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

Click the “Kudos, Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!

Have a great day!

try to delete the device from your notebook and then connect once again or to renew the drivers
