hey everyone,

here it is, nearly 2019, and I think/hope I’ve figured out what’s going on in my very similar case.  Maybe this will help you too, I hope?

I just got my Laserjet about 2 months ago, and I’ve been running into the same error only over the last 2 days, but for me, it’s with Dropbox.  the printer can see my files, it just can’t upload when I scan.

I happen to have Dropbox for Business as of the last year, and it shows maybe a little more as far as error reporting. Does it show the same error if you have an individual plan? No idea. You can let me know, but if I run into the same problem a month from now, I’ll find out myself since I’m downgrading back to individual again.

No idea if there’s a place in Google Drive to see such things, but..

I’ve hit an API call limit for the month — one that’s only incremented if I’m connecting to Dropbox with a third party tool (like ios apps that connect to Dropbox but are not named Dropbox..).  I’m assuming that the Dropbox for HP implementation counts as a third party tool here, which is disappointing since HP obviously doesn’t maintain it.  Three things:  it’s not just from scanning. Far from it.  I’ve used other transfer tools far more this month than I ever have before.  Next, the API limit for the business plan I’m on is 25,000 calls a month.  Finally, I won’t know for sure if this has been the problem until the 1st of next month, which the limit gets reset again.

No idea if Google has a similar limit, and no idea what the limit is for an individual (standard) Dropbox plan, because they don’t list it. I’m assuming it’s much smaller.

Those of you who’ve run into this — has it been after doing a _lot_ of stuff with Google Drive or Dropbox, but not with the proprietary tools? Have you noticed that the problem is better a couple weeks later (after the beginning of the next month)? Here’s to hoping this is what the problem is.

I’m going to be checking if this works again on December 1st, and I hope you all will too, and report what happens back here. Fingers crossed...
