Have just installed Office Jet 3831. Running Windows 10. Office 365.
Have no option to scan to Word - menu only shows me JPG or PDF. This is a problem when needing to send Word doc by email.
All drivers up to date.
Advice will be gratefully received!
TIA.

@debreos wrote:Thanks for the reply. Any suggestions as to the best software to buy? And would that software be a Windows application, accessed from the printer? Or an HP application?
Thank again, your time is appreciated.
Regarding answer:
Printer Software does not support Scan-to-Word
You are welcome.
Windows software is typically not accessed via the computer control panel. Office software and other windows options run on the computer.
I have a full installation of Office software - I just don't use "scan to word" .
You could opt to scan to PDF and then convert that PDF into Word. I find this option particularly disappointing most of the time, even having really decent tools to accomplish the task does not mean the results are always satisfactory.
You could consider using OCR software to create an editable version of your PDF file.

Scan to Word is not included in the printer software.
You'll need to purchase software that provides this feature. There may also be free options available. Remember to use discretion when considering free "anything" - protect your data and your information.

You are welcome.
Yes, if you have Office installed, Word documents can be saved as PDF files.
