I am trying to scan to a network folder, but the Smart Tank 7600 says no folder set up. How do I set up a network folder?

Hi @Alminibus,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I hear that your HP printer says “no folder set up”. You need to first create a shared folder on your computer, then add that folder to the printer using the Embedded Web Server (EWS) or HP Smart (if supported).
Basic setup steps
Create a shared folder on your computer:
- Create a new folder.
- Open Properties for that folder.
- Go to Sharing and share it with the appropriate users.
- For scanning, the shared folder should have Read/Write access.
Open the printer’s Embedded Web Server:
- In the printer’s Embedded Web Server, go to:
- Settings > Network folder, or
- Scan > Scan to network folder / Quick Sets, depending on the model.
- Settings > Network folder, or
Add the network folder:
- Click the plus icon or New.
- Enter:
- Display name
- Network folder path
- Protocol: SMB (if shown)
- Username and password for the computer/folder, if required
- Display name
- Optional: set a 4-digit Security PIN
Save and verify:
- Click Apply, Save, or Save and Test.
- The printer checks whether it can access the folder.
Important notes
- The folder must be a shared network folder before the printer can use it.
- For scan-to-folder use, the user account typically needs full read/write permissions.
- If the folder later becomes unavailable, check whether the folder was moved, deleted, or the password changed.
I hope this will help.
Take care and have a good day.
