hi, i am trying to scan with hp deskjet 2620, connected calbe to pc, 

i can not find th option of scanning in my pc, the device appears only as a printer, 

any suggestions?

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

 

Since your HP DeskJet 2620 is connected to your PC via a USB cable but only appears as a printer, you may need to install the correct drivers and software to enable scanning. Here’s what you can do.

 

Install HP Full Feature Software & Drivers

  • Download the HP Smart or HP Full Feature Software and Drivers from HP’s official site:
    1. Go to HP Support
    2. Search for "HP DeskJet 2620"
    3. Download and install the Full Feature Software for your operating system.

Use Windows Built-in Scan Utility

  • If drivers are installed but you don’t see a scan option, try using:
    • Windows Fax and Scan:
      1. Press Win + S and search for "Windows Fax and Scan".
      2. Click New Scan and see if your printer appears.
    • Windows Scan App (For Windows 10/11 users)
      1. Open the Microsoft Store and install the Windows Scan app.
      2. Open the app and check if your scanner is detected.

Check Device Manager

  • Open Device Manager (Win + X → Device Manager)
  • Expand Imaging Devices or Printers
  • If your scanner is missing, reinstall the HP drivers.

Manually Add the Scanner

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your HP DeskJet 2620, and look for a Scanner properties option.
  • If missing, reinstall the drivers.
