Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Got an error flashing code when I try to scan.  Looked it up. Said the printer head could be bad.  Bought a new HP of the same series.  Plugged it in and when I try and scan I get a very similar error message.  Anyone that can help would be appreciated.  Removed the printer, reinstalled the printer.  Restarted my computer.  Nothing helps.  Thanks

@kwuenne, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like the issue might not be with the printhead but rather with the scanning software, drivers, or connection. Since the error persists with a new HP printer of the same series, try the following steps:

Check the Scanner Hardware

  • If your printer has a copy function, try copying a document. If it copies fine, the scanner hardware is likely okay, and the issue is software-related.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows)

  • Download HP Print and Scan Doctor from HP support website.
  • Open the tool and follow the instructions to diagnose and fix scanning issues.

Reinstall HP Drivers & Software

  1. Uninstall HP Printer Software:
    • Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
    • Locate HP printer software and uninstall it completely.
  2. Remove the Printer from Devices:
    • Press Win + R, type control printers, and press Enter.
    • Right-click on your printer and select Remove device.
  3. Reinstall Drivers:
    • Go to HP support page and download the latest full-feature software for your printer model.
    • Install the software and follow the on-screen instructions.

Check Windows Scanning Tools

  • Try scanning using Windows Fax and Scan:
    • Press Win + S, type Windows Fax and Scan, and open it.
    • Click New Scan and check if it works.
  • Alternatively, try using the HP Smart app.

Check Scanner Settings

  • Open Device Manager (press Win + X, then select Device Manager).
  • Look under Imaging Devices or Printers and see if the scanner is listed.
  • If it has a yellow exclamation mark, right-click and choose Update driver.

Change USB Ports or Try a Different Connection

  • If using a USB connection, switch to a different USB port.
  • If using Wi-Fi, ensure the printer is on the same network as your computer.
  • If possible, try scanning from a different computer.

If the issue persists, could you please provide the exact error code or message you're seeing, and I can assist further!

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
