Send a double-sided fax with SmartTank 7605

Hello,

I bought a new 4-in-1 printer, the SmartTank 7605, because my OfficeJet Pro 6970 is defective. I need the fax function.

The document feeder of the 7605 does not support duplex scanning.

How can I send faxes with multiple pages that are printed double-sided?

True - this model lacks that nice automatic 2-sided scan feature.

Scanning Options (ADF)

Single-sided

One solution:

Install the full driver printer software

AND

Use HP Scan to help manage the two-sided document and get it scanned into your computer.
(Page sides = 2-sided (Manual)

Next,

After the document is scanned into your computer,

Fax the content from the computer to the Fax recipient

Install Printer Software

The differences can between the full driver and the Universal Scan software are subtle but important.

The Full Solution software is the full driver printer software.

The full driver printer software is the software used with "Scan to Computer".

Reinstalling?

• Uninstall existing full driver printer software from Programs and Features.
• If your printer includes a separate "help" in Programs and Features, uninstall that, too.
• Restart the computer and log in.
• If the printer is connected to the computer using a printer USB cable, remove / disconnect the cable before loading the software.

In general, the web pack should load -

Download package > Save > Right-Click on the installation Package > Run as Administrator

If / When asked, opt for the Full Driver / Full Software to be installed.

Using USB?  (Re)Connect when instructed to do so.

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and sign in.

If asked, opt for the Full Driver to be installed.

The installation of the full driver generally adds at least one or more shortcuts to the Desktop.

 Note:  Printer Assistant, HP Scan Assistant, and HP Scan are dependent on printer model and supported software options.

• Printer Assistant – Where still supported as part of the full driver printer software
• HP Scan Assistant – For those printers that no longer provide the Printer Assistant
• HP Scan – Shortcut on Desktop named for the printer model
• When installed, HP Universal Scan software adds a separate self-named “HP Scan” shortcut

Perhaps I misunderstood you. However, 'HP Scan' is no longer supported and is deprecated. You referred to 'HP Smart,' but there is no feature that allows scanning double-sided documents using a single-sided ADF.

OK - Could be - I don't have rebuttal to your assertion that the HP Scan software is depreciated.

In so much that I am aware,

HP Scan is the current scanning software and is part of the full driver printer software package.

OK - I found it - the reference in my first post to HP Smart application is part of an excerpt from the How to Scan document.  HP Smart is indeed usable, though in the context of your situation HP Smart is even less ideal than HP Scan.
