Hi @marsh9,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

To set up scanning with your HP Smart Tank 7600 printer, follow these step-by-step instructions:

Using the HP Smart App

Download the HP Smart App: If you haven't already, download and install the HP Smart app from your app store or from 123.hp.com.

Power on the Printer: Ensure your printer is turned on.

Prepare the Document:

  • Scanner Glass: Open the scanner lid and place the document to be scanned onto the scanner glass, aligning it with the indicated corner.

  • Document Feeder: For models like HP Smart Tank 750, 760, 7300, and 7600 series, load the original document into the feeder with the side to be scanned facing up.

Open HP Smart App: Launch the HP Smart app on your device.  HP Smart.

Select Scan Tile: From the HP Smart home screen, click the Scan tile.

Choose Scanner Source: In the top left, ensure Scanner is selected. Adjust any settings in the right-hand menu based on the paper type and your preferences. If you're using the document feeder, select Document Feeder as the source.

Begin Scanning: Click Scan to begin the scan and make any adjustments to the scan settings based on your preferences.

Scan Two-Sided Documents: For the second side of a document:

  • Open the scanner lid, flip the document to the second side, align it, and close the lid.

  • For document feeder scans, remove the original from the feeder output tray, flip it, and reload it into the feeder facing up.

  • Click Scan to begin the second side scan.

Finalize the Scan: In the Preview window, you can select to:

  • Print: Print the scanned document.

  • Save: Save the document to your computer.

  • Share: Send the document to an email address or another app, or a destination.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.
