This is not just a problem with the above Product but my last 2 HP Printers. I don't scan from the panel on the printer only through the Hp Smart app. Its imperative that when I scan a document I can send it directly to email by sharing and my default needs to be Office 365 or Outlook. It used to work this way without a hitch. I do not intend on using Microsoft mail and I do not log in using microsoft. What are my options? I have an Epson scanner at home that lets me pick my default email account so why can't I on the HP's. I really don't want to switch to Epson as I've been loyal to HP for years but will if this can't be addressed.

Hi,
The HP Smart app is an App Store app, and only allow scanning to the Apps Store apps, such as the Mail app, not to any classic application.
Please try HP Smart Tasks instead, which allow scanning to email via HP Smart or the printer front panel, regardless of the used email software:

Thank you for this suggestion and it does work but only if I know the email address of where I'm sending it. It does not allow me to chose from my address book like it used to? Am I missing something?
Is it possible to just delete the AP Smart Scan version and just have the old fashioned one that worked before without forcing you to use a different product for your mail to make it work? I'd take an old driver any day over this.
I have office 365 on my computer. It was installed the old fashioned way by clicking on a link and not by downloading an app. Would it function differently if I had downloaded the APP vs clicking on a link?

Hi,
Please follow HP Easy Start below by selecting the HP Basic Device Driver option and check from HP Scan:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/HPEasyStart_11_0_4498_30.exe
If you may experience any difficulties, I would also suggest trying the HP scan Extended app:
