Some times unable to put in number for fax HP Officejet Pro 8035e

Sometimes the Fax will not let me enter a phone number to send the fax. It slips that information and will then dial without a number.

We understand how critical reliable fax functionality Let’s walk through the proper troubleshooting steps to try and fix this issue.

1. Restart the Printer

Sometimes, temporary glitches in the fax memory or interface can cause misbehavior like skipping number entry.

• Power off the printer
• Unplug the power cord from both the wall outlet and the printer
• Wait at least 60 seconds
• Plug the power cord back in directly to a wall outlet
• Turn the printer back on

This clears out any cached or corrupted fax memory and resets internal processes.

2. Manually Dial Fax Numbers

If you're using speed dial or redial features, they can sometimes misfire or recall incorrect/blank numbers.

• Go to Fax > Send Fax
• Select Enter Fax Number Manually
• Do not use: Recent Calls, Phonebook, or Redial options during testing

If the fax succeeds manually but fails when using shortcuts, the issue is likely with saved contacts or dialling memory.

3. Delete and Re-Add Saved Fax Contacts

Corrupt entries in the fax phonebook can cause skipping of numbers.

1. On the printer's control panel, go to:
   • Fax > Phone Book > View/Edit Contacts
2. Delete any entries that show as blank or malformed
3. Re-add contacts carefully, ensuring all numbers are correct and formatted (e.g., with country or area code if needed)
